13 February 2017 The Family, Friends and colleagues of the Rev. Hartmut Albruschat It was with a sense of shock and sadness that news reached us in Taiwan concerning the sudden passing of Rev. Hartmut Albrushchat as indeed it must have been for you his family and colleagues. The news was even more surprising for us since it was only last summer we had the pleasure of welcoming and hosting Rev. Albruschat back to Taiwan as he visited many of the “old” friends and ministries of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) which he had supported so ardently for decades. While a shock at the same time we are thankful that he did not suffer; and it was somehow significant that brother Hartmut was called home to the Lord while going about the business of the church and mission that meant so much to him. During his years as East Asia Officer of Berlin Mission and current Chairperson of the German East Asia Mission (DOAM) Hartmut served his Lord and mission with passion and diligence. Certainly, your partners in Taiwan remembers how supportive he was during the difficult years when our former General Secretary Rev. Dr. C. M. Kao was in prison. Despites officially retiring his passion and commitment to mission and the global church never wavered. On behalf of the officers and members of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) please accept this expression of condolences on the passing of the Lord’s faithful servant and friend Rev. Hartmut Albruschat. We pray the Lord will comfort you in the loss of your loved one. It is regretful that we cannot be with you in person when you gather to thank God for his life on 17 February at Heidefriedhof in Berlin; please be assured we will be with you in spirit and uphold you in our prayers. Yours sincerely in Christ, Sudu Tada舒度大達 Rev. Sudu Tada PCT Moderator, 61st General Assembly | 林芳仲 Rev. Lyim Hong-Tiong PCT General Secretary | |
